Amazing Grace Tops

Look in your closet, the tops have it four to one. For every bottom we own, we probably own four tops. Purchasing a new top is a quick way to create a new look, a fresh look, with minimal expense.

I’ve coined the phrase Amazing Grace Tops when a top boasts four features:

  • It enhances YOU; your skin tone and coloring look amazing.

Look for tops that make your eyes pop and accent it with tonal jewelry.

  • It falls in a graceful drape that flatters (doesn’t try to hide) your curves.

Avoid boxy shapes and stiff fabrics. If you’re constantly pulling at or fluffing the top to make it stand away from puffy areas, it’s the wrong top for you.

  • It’s long enough to make you feel comfortable and pretty with your every move.

Try it on in the comfort of your home; sit, stand, walk and move around in ways that reflect your real-life activities.

  • It has a contemporary vibe.

A smaller investment than other wardrobe pieces, choose tops that are a little flashy, even trendy and well-embellished. Be playful!

If, in terms of fashion, you should ever feel “out of touch” or you look in your closet and it seems “out of date,” a true Amazing Grace Top just might save the day! What do you look for in a top?

A New Holiday

Seems we have a new ‘holiday’. It's referred to as Red Monday. This is the day when we all head back to work after Thanksgiving and -- instead of actually working -- do our On Line Christmas Shopping. The web promos with Free Shipping and %$ off orders have dropped in our In Boxes like Santa through the chimney.

Evidently, I not only inherited my mother's eyes, but her penchant for Personal Shopping Syndrome. It's the ' one for you... and one for me..." technique. You know how it goes; buy a sweater for Grandma and a Floral Kimono for me. Before you know it the bags are full and I've done my part for the economy.

So, be a good citizen and join my pursuit for plus size fashion. If you register on websites, like
www.ullapopken.com you will start to receive weekly promo offers, too So, you won't be in the Red.

Happy Holiday Shopping!

Black Friday Shopping

You know it's a Serious Shopping Season when the rush hour traffic reports include Mall Parking lot reports -- at 5:30 am! Why, oh why, do people want to leave their cozy homes at mid-night and camp out for Black Friday shopping? I much prefer to stay home, enjoy my Thanksgiving Triptophane high, and shop on line.

It's sale season for everyone, including plus size shoppers. I'm on the hunt for a Holiday sweater and New Year's Eve party wear. Guess I'd better visit www.ullapopken.com and start clicking right away -- before the empty-handed mall shoppers find out where the real bargains are!

So Much to be Thankful for!

Thank you for sharing, caring, and blogging. Especially my friends at Ulla Popken. Your comments and suggestions are much appreciated.
Sometimes it can be tricky finding plus size clothing that looks good and fits well. I'm tethered to a desk all day -- so Comfort is Queen! Please keep sending in your Hot Tips for women's pants, tops, and Winter Wear. Remember: after the Turkey is gone the flakes start falling.

Hey -- it's Cold out There!

So -- I went to the closet to dig out sweaters, scarves, and the usual Fall/Winter fare. My next stop was my keyboard. No, not to wear! I'm going shopping. Looking for yummy stuff in Plus Sizes. Some wrap sweaters, slim (not skinny) pants, blouses with ruffles, and a long, toasty coat. Will let you know what I found.

Keep in Touch!
